This document sets out requirements, rationale and guidance for the application of lineside operational signs published in the RSSB catalogue. It also contains the index of lineside operational signs published in the RSSB standards catalogue and the process for including a new design or a change of use of an existing sign.

References to the ‘emergency special working’ sign have been changed to ‘end of degraded working’.
