Limiting Menu Options
To help you find what you're looking for, you can force the menus to show only options that are relevant to your previous
selections. For example, having selected a particular Monitoring Site, when limited, the menus will only show Pollutants that are
measured at your selected monitoring site. This feature can be switched on and off using the tick-box above.
How does this help me?
This helps prevent you from selecting data that just does not exist. However, if you are selecting data
from more than one Monitoring Site it is still possible to select Pollutants that may be measured at one Monitoring
Site but not another. In this case the Data Selector will warn you that some of your selections do not have data.
Why would I want to switch this off?
Most of the time you won't want to switch this off, however, if you change your data request part way
through or modify a data request that you've used before, you may find that the menus don't allow you to select
new options because they're not relevant to the options you selected in the past. In this case, you can switch of
Limiting Menu Options by unticking the checkbox above and clicking the Update button.
Alternatively, you can reset individual selections (click the Reset links) or you can reset the whole data request
by clicking the Reset button.
