Trusts and foundations
Kew works closely with charitable trusts and foundations and other grant-giving bodies to deliver impactful and pioneering projects that will help us achieve our mission.
Support our pioneering work
As environmental challenges such as climate change, food insecurity and habitat destruction become ever more acute, the demands on Kew’s expertise and resources intensify. We are always looking to develop new relationships with funders as partners in this vital work. Our key areas of work that trusts and foundations support are:
- International conservation and livelihoods development
- Ground-breaking plant and fungal science research
- Major capital projects, such as conserving our iconic Palm House
- Learning and Participation programmes
Our impact
Kew is supported by charitable trusts and foundations in our mission to find nature-based solutions to urgent environmental challenges. Together, we are helping to protect and understand the world's plants and fungi.

Our impact
People's Postcode Lottery is a charity lottery which raises vital funding to support a huge range of good causes. Since 2012, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (RBG Kew) has been supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
This vital and unrestricted funding has been instrumental in support RBG Kew’s mission to understand and protect plants and fungi, for the wellbeing of people and the future of all life on Earth.
Over the years, the funding has supported crucial work across some of RBG Kew’s key projects including:
- Tropical Important Plant Areas: identifying and mapping sites in selected countries that support globally threatened species and habitats
- MSB UK Programme: supporting our efforts to collect seeds from 75 of the UK's most important tree species
- Youth programmes and the Kew Community Access Scheme.
Thank you to the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery for supporting RBG Kew.
