Tring: Bioblitz
Help our experts record what animals and plants are living on our site in this fun day of family-friendly activities.
It’s time for our annual BioBlitz when we see what wildlife is living in our grounds.
Head to our meadow where all the action will be taking place. Pick up a sweep net to brush over the long grasses in search of beetles, flies and grasshoppers. Sign up for pond dipping and to watch us release mice, shrews and voles from survey traps.
Chat to local ecologists and our team and take a look at what invertebrates have been found during the day.
Activity times will be advertised on the day and are weather-dependent. Pond dipping spaces are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Suitable for all ages.
- This activity isn’t ticketed but school holidays are particularly busy times for us, so book a free Museum entry ticket in advance so you don’t miss out.
- If you’ll be using a wheelchair, let us know in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements. Email us at tring-bookings@nhm.ac.uk.
