Important Notice

Since 2025, our online publishing (e-publication) service has only been processing validations of names that have already been published in peer-reviewed journals but remain invalid due to specific minor issues under the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants.

Please note that we are not accepting submissions for the publication of new taxon names (e.g., new species, genera, or combinations).

We provide a complete list of Index Fungorum Publications for you to view and search.

How to request a validation through the Index Fungorum e-publication service

  1. Register the name in Index Fungorum.
  2. Complete the required information using the Word file template.
  3. Send the completed form, together with the original publication in which the invalid name appeared, to our curator.

Once received, your submission will undergo review. If accepted, it will be published online.

Submissions that do not meet these requirements will not be considered.
