Barriers

ISO 22343-1:2023

This document specifies impact performance requirements for a vehicle security barrier (VSB) and a test method for rating its performance when subjected to a single impact by a test vehicle not driven by a human being. It is applicable to test methods for vehicle penetration distances not exceeding 15m.

This standard supersedes IWA 14-1 and PAS 68.

ISO 22343-2:2023

This document gives guidance on the selection, installation and use of vehicle security barriers (VSBs) and describes the process of producing operational requirements (ORs). It also gives guidance in a design method for assessing the performance of a VSB.

This standard supersedes IWA 14-2 and PAS 69.

PAS 170-1:2017

Vehicle security barriers

This standard describes an efficient way of testing the performance of a single bollard when hit by a vehicle at low speed. However, it does not provide a full-scale vehicle impact test method and does not cover the performance of a test item or its control apparatus when subjected to blast explosion, ballistic impact or manual attack. Used for evaluating bollards typically installed in a car park or retail outlet which could be hit accidentally by a low speed passenger vehicle

PAS 68:2013

This standard has been superseded by ISO 22343-1:2023 however products previously tested to this standard remain acceptable.

PAS 69:2013

This standard has been superseded by ISO 22343-2:2023.

IWA 14-1:2013

This standard has been superseded by ISO 22343-1:2023 however products previously tested to this standard remain acceptable.

It is imperative that the standards highlighted above i.e. ISO 22343-1, PAS 170, PAS 68 and IWA 14 are installed correctly in line with the associated standard.
