Cyber Security Body of Knowledge (CyBOK)

The CyBOK aims to align cyber security with more established scientific fields by gathering insights from leading international experts and distilling foundational knowledge into a comprehensive Body of Knowledge designed to support cyber security education, and professional training and development.
What is CyBOK?
The CyBOK provides a guide to the underpinning body of knowledge relevant to all aspects of cyber security. It is a unique resource which is agnostic of role or seniority in an organisation, and is useful for anyone interested in, or already working in cyber security, either directly or indirectly.
It enables the development of learning and career pathways, curricula and professional training. The NCSC uses the CyBOK to describe the course content of the NCSC-certified degrees programme and for the courses content of NCSC-assured commercial training courses.
The Future
Since 2017, the CyBOK has been a government-funded project - latterly led from the University of Bristol. However, on 11th November 2024, it was announced that the CyBOK's long term home is to be a Community Interest Company (CIC). The transition to the CIC began in autumn 2024 and will be completed in summer 2026. (Find out more at https://www.cybok.org/news/cybok-enters-exciting-new-chapter)
