Annual Horizon Scanning Report 2026-2027
The RDTC Annual Horizon Scanning report is now available here.

Clascoterone for the treatment of acne vulgaris
The aim of this publication is to evaluate the efficacy, safety and potential place in therapy of Clascoterone cream a first-in-class androgen receptor inhibitor indicated for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris in patients 12 years of age and older.

Docusate for constipation
Medicines in Practice is a series of evidence–based publications specifically designed to support stakeholder medicines optimisation services. The series aims to maximise health gains through the optimum use of medicines, by influencing and changing prescribing behaviour. RDTC workplan – adrenaline nasal spray
During routine horizon scanning, RDTC have identified adrenaline 2mg nasal spray (Eurneffy) for management of severe allergic reactions as an item of interest. We’ve added it to our workplan, but we’re aware that the Resuscitation Council UK clinical guidelines are due for review. To avoid duplication of effort we are awaiting this updated guidance, and will keep this topic under active surveillance,
Evidence reviews for drug and therapeutics committees
RDTC are making a new series of publications available to stakeholders. Our D&T reviews are prepared in response to specific requests, and intended for use by drug and therapeutics groups or equivalent committees, They provide an overview of the evidence on a specific therapeutic question, and support the review of applications to use a treatment in an individual or for a cohort. They are not intended to be used as standalone publications.

The purpose of this bulletin is to highlight the inflated NHS price of haloperidol 500 microgram tablets and to demonstrate the potential savings of using alternative presentations to provide the same dose.
