Impact story: Saving Babies Lives’ Implementation Hub

Purpose

This is a practical workspace that has enabled maternity services and commissioners to use an implementation tool to baseline current practice, and evidence improvement and compliance against the required Saving Babies’ Lives interventions.   

Providers are required to use of the tool as the basis for evidencing quarterly quality improvement discussions with ICBs. A copy of the tool was prepared for each provider within a dedicated Local Maternity and Neonatal Service folder, to which all providers in the ICB have access. 

Benefits

• The workspace has enabled a different way of working for NHS England regional and national teams.
• There are no routine, deadline-based submissions of data for the purposes of assurance. Instead, these teams are able to review data stored on trust implementation tools in this workspace on an ad-hoc basis to assess national progress in implementation.
