Impact story: Outpatient Recovery and Transformation
> A collaborative workspace transforming outpatient services, cutting appointments, and improving patient care through shared learning and community engagement
Purpose
The workspace is supporting the long term ambition to redesign outpatient services so the NHS can avoid up to 30 million face to face appointments every year. The workspace supports members to transform their local area through planning tools, case studies, discussion forums and webinars.
The workspace has been used to encourage all members, including suppliers to share collaborative experiences and learning, so together they can improve patient experience and outcomes.
Benefits
- Community and co-production: The biggest benefit has to be the large and diverse membership.
- Agility: It allowed their community to communicate, network and promote toolkits and information quickly during the pandemic, and even more so during the recovery phase.
- Make your voice heard. The forums allow the national programme to see and respond to current hot topics for members.
