Tech and Data Integration (TDI)

Welcome to the TDI workspace

Imagine a world where NHS data flows smoothly, securely, and consistently, helping to improve patient care and drive innovation.

That's the world we're building at the Technology and Data Integration (TDI) function.

You can think of us as the data architects and governors of the NHS, working behind the scenes to organise and manage the vast amounts of information that keep our healthcare system running.

We're the team that brings order to the world of data. We work across the NHS, ensuring data is managed consistently, securely, and effectively. In essence, we design the blueprints and build the foundations for a data-driven future.

How will we achieve this? We develop essential tools and standards.

Canonical Data Model (CDM)

To truly unlock the power of NHS data, we need a common language. That's where the CDM comes in.

Think of the CDM as a standard set of instructions for organising health and care information. By applying these rules across the NHS, we create a consistent structure that makes data easier to understand and use.

By using this common language for data, we can:

The CDM will transform how the NHS uses data, leading to more efficient, effective, and patient-centred care.
