Impact story: Cancer Alliances
> A platform for Cancer Alliances to share learning and collaborate with each other and with the national and regional NHS Cancer Programme to improve outcomes for patients
Purpose
The workspace was set up in 2017 and has grown to play a pivotal role in enabling Cancer Alliances to drive forward NHS England’s priorities for cancer. Each Cancer Alliance brings together the key organisations in their area to coordinate cancer care and to improve outcomes for patients locally.
The workspace enables Cancer Alliances to share knowledge and learning, and to strengthen the engagement between them, as well as with the regional and national teams.
The workspace contains resources, guidance, policy, discussions, and support.
Benefits
- The biggest success of the workspace has been the ability to connect the national team of the NHS Cancer Programme, Cancer Alliances and NHS colleagues together to aid delivery.
- The sheer number of useful resources on the platform and the active discussion forum is testament to that.
