techUK and the Local Government Association (LGA) are inviting councils to share the digital, data and technology challenges they face during LGR. The aim is to bring councils and suppliers together to explore practical, shared approaches.

Councils are asked to submit a challenge by Friday 8 May. Shortlisted challenges will shape a collaborative workshop focused on real issues from across the sector.

GDS is carrying out research to understand how public sector organisations manage access and sign in to internal digital tools and platforms.

This research is particularly relevant if you do the hands on technical work on authentication, such as configuring identity providers or managing system logins.

MHCLG’s Local AI team is running drop-in sessions for local government colleagues to help shape the AI ethics workstream. These sessions are aimed at those working on, or directly involved in, the safe and responsible use of AI in local government.

The LGA has partnered with Public Digital, councils and national partners to update the Cyber Incident Grab Bag, building on lessons from real incidents across the sector.

This session will cover:

• key actions to prioritise in the early stages of an incident
• how the Grab Bag complements existing business continuity and incident response plans
• how to apply the guidance across different services and scenarios
