We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work within specialist SEN schools across Gloucester, supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs. These may include autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to help students access the curriculum both inside and outside the classroom. You will provide targeted support on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping to reinforce learning, develop essential skills, and encourage independence.
You will also play a key role in supporting students' emotional wellbeing and behaviour, applying consistent and positive strategies to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
The ideal candidate will be patient, proactive, and adaptable, with a genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs. Previous experience within education or care settings is advantageous, although not essential.
