CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES To be part of the critical care team based across the Royal Brompton critical care units as required. To participate in medical audit. To participate in the education and supervision of medical trainees and other staff. Critical care echocardiography (TTE and TOE); rom FEEL/FICE, BSE Level 1-2, CUSIC certification to BSE/EACVI accreditation and beyond ECMO (VV and VA) and retrieval Additional opportunities maybe possible after discussion (respiratory medicine, pulmonary hypertension, anaesthesia, transfer medicine, GUCH, ICU follow up, management & leadership, education) The units have consultant cover 24/7, onsite day times Monday to Sunday, and additional consultant cover is provided for ECMO retrieval. There is an active teaching programme covering general and specialist critical care, as well as targeted teaching for relevant postgraduate examinations, either locally or in collaboration with neighbouring institutions. The unit teaches and trains undergraduate students from Imperial University and has numerous honorary visiting fellows. The postholder would be expected to support these teaching activities.
