Water company enquiries
How can we help you?
Ofwat is the economic regulator of the water sector in England and Wales only.
The economic regulator for water in Scotland is the Water Industry Commissioner for Scotland.
The economic regulator for water in Northern Ireland is the Utility Regulator.
Ofwat does not deal with individual consumer complaints or enquiries about water companies or individual water bills.
If you are concerned about your water bill or have a complaint about your water company, first discuss it with your water company.
If you remain unhappy, you can submit an enquiry or a complaint via the Consumer Council for Water website.
Or call the Consumer Council for Water on 0300 034 2222 (for customers in England) / 0300 034 3333 (for customers in Wales)
The Consumer Council for Water is the statutory consumer body for the water sector in England and Wales and are able to offer assistance and advice.
There are a small number of complaints that Ofwat does deal with. Read more on Complaints and disputes we can help with or Dispute Resolution Routes.
