The Senior Administrative Team Leader will provide operational leadership across the reception and administration function, ensuring services are efficient, patient-focused, and delivered to a high standard. The postholder will oversee day-to-day administrative operations, support workforce development, and drive continuous improvement across workflows and processes. Key responsibilities will include: Managing a large team of reception and administrative staff, with the support of deputies with different specialities. Rotas and annual leave planning to ensure optimum cover at all times. Training, learning and development of the reception/administrative team. Staff wellbeing and retention. Delivering excellent patient experience Achieving great telephone response times Ensuring task and letter workflows are streamlined and managed effectively. Participating in larger team meetings to engage and cascade relevant information to your team. Additional Responsibilities Provide visible leadership and day-to-day operational oversight of administrative services. Ensure administrative processes are streamlined, efficient, and aligned with practice priorities. Monitor team performance, productivity, and service standards across reception and administration. Support deputies and team leaders to deliver consistent operational management within their specialist areas. Identify opportunities for service improvement, digital transformation, and smarter ways of working. Maintain high standards of communication, professionalism, and patient confidentiality. Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes where required. Ensure practice policies, procedures, and compliance standards are consistently followed. Work collaboratively with the wider leadership team to support organisational objectives and operational resilience. Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive working culture across the administrative function.
