With new improved links from your area to UK holiday destinations – where would you go?
|
|
Our new connections map shows just some of the UK’s tourist hotspots that will be within easier reach once East West Rail (EWR) is up and running. With its intersections across the UK’s key railway lines, some of the nations most loved destinations will now be more accessible by train, offering more options and shorter journey times.

If you were unable to make it to one of our public drop-in events there are still lots of other ways to speak with us and find out more about the project – such as our website, email, post, phone, or by taking a look at our factsheets.
We also created a series of videos which answer the questions we were asked the most at each public drop-in event.

Local Representatives Groups update
|
|
The last round of Local Representatives Group meetings followed our route update announcement. Representatives from parish, town and local authorities from across the route joined the East West Rail (EWR) team at 14 sessions held over 6 weeks.
Discussions focused on the route update, with members asking questions and sharing their local knowledge: from concerns around level crossings and community connectivity, to the specific evaluation of your feedback undertaken by EWR team. All meeting agendas and minutes are available to view on our website here.
All members of the groups have been extremely generous with their time, and we’re grateful for their ongoing participation. The groups are just one of the ways local communities can connect with our team through their representatives.

During June and July, we invited people to a series of public drop-in events in order to discuss the updated proposals for the East West Rail. Our team of experts from a range of disciplines were on hand to answer questions and talk with people outside of the formal consultation process.
Over 90 members of our team welcomed more than 2,300 members of the community at 12 locations across the route. We’re grateful for all those who were able to get to events in-person and look forward to welcoming you to more events down the line.
