RMN Deputy Ward Manager

Full-time RMN Deputy Ward Manager role in a specialist mental health rehabilitation setting. Senior clinical and operational support to the Ward Manager, with a focus on safe care, leadership and team development.

Overview
Salary: £40,040. Full-time, 40 hours per week. Onsite role. Fully remote working is not available.

You will support the Ward Manager in delivering safe, effective and therapeutic care within a specialist inpatient service. The role includes senior nursing leadership, clinical oversight, risk management, supervision of staff and contribution to multidisciplinary working.

Active NMC registration as an RMN is required, with revalidation maintained. A minimum of 18 months to 2 years’ post-registration experience is required. Applicants must have the Right to Work in the UK. Sponsorship availability has not been confirmed for this role.

What you’ll do
Support the Ward Manager with day-to-day ward leadership
Act as senior nurse on shift and maintain a safe therapeutic environment
Apply policies, governance standards and statutory requirements
Assess and manage risk across the ward environment
Supervise and support a defined group of nursing staff
Contribute to CPD, appraisals and mandatory training
Provide clinical supervision to nursing team members
Support junior staff and student nurses on placement
Deliver, monitor and evaluate therapeutic interventions
Work closely with the multidisciplinary team
Act as named nurse for a small group of patients when required
Deputise for the Ward Manager as needed
Help identify staffing and skill mix gaps
Support recruitment and retention activity when required
What you’ll need
Active NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse
RMN qualification
18 months to 2 years’ post-registration experience
Trained Assessor/Supervisor status
Clinical supervision experience
Evidence of continued professional development
Good computer skills
Strong written, verbal and non-verbal communication
Ability to lead by example in a clinical setting
Experience working within mental health services
Understanding of safeguarding, documentation and governance
Right to Work in the UK
