Keeping You
Connected

December 2025
A message from David Hughes, CEO

As the year draws to a close, I want to say a huge thank you for your involvement with East West Rail as we develop our plans for a transformational new railway connecting the communities though Oxford, Milton Keynes, Bedford and Cambridge.

Back in early 2025, we successfully closed our non-statutory consultation, giving communities the chance to share their views and shape the project in meaningful ways.

Since then, we’ve shared our Summary Report and launched the You Said, We Did update. We’ve met with our Enhanced Local Representatives Groups and more recently launched our pop-up events to keep the conversation going.

There‘ll also be more opportunities to share your feedback next year, so we can keep building a railway that reflects what matters most to you.

From all of us here, we wish you a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year, and a joyful festive season!

David Hughes, CEO

We've launched -  Pop-up Events are underway

We’ve recently launched our series of pop-up events in local communities along the route. These informal sessions are designed to give you the chance to meet the team, ask questions, and learn more about the project.

Whilst these events are not formal consultations and won’t include technical maps or detailed design materials, our team will be on hand to talk through the project and point you to further information online.

We’ll continue to host pop-up events throughout the next year, so keep an eye out for dates and locations near you.

We look forward to meeting you soon.

Design Update events coming soon!

Following on from the publication of our You Said, We Did report in November, we’ll be following up with Design Update Sessions to talk in more detail about some of the proposals that have progressed or changed since we last spoke to the communities in these areas. These sessions will start in the new year, and will give you the chance to learn more about the work the teams have been developing.

Our experts will be on hand to talk to the detail of the updates, answer your questions, and provide insight into the next stages of design. This is a great opportunity to stay informed and connect with the people behind the project.

Keep an eye out for dates and locations—we’ll be sharing details shortly. We look forward to seeing you there!
