As an FMS Assistant Supervisor in our Defence team, you’ll support the safe, efficient running of our Furniture Management Service, helping deliver essential services to Service personnel and their families across the UK. Your work will ensure homes are properly equipped, supporting those who serve and making a real difference every day.
Working closely with the FMS Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly – from warehouse management to delivery coordination. In doing so, you’ll help create a positive impact on communities, ensuring high standards, safety, and reliability in everything we do.
What you’ll do as a FMS Assistant Supervisor
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Support the day-to-day operation of the furniture warehouse, including deliveries, collections, installations, and testing
- Assist with health and safety compliance and ensure all activities meet regulatory and policy requirements
- Step in to supervise colleagues and coordinate daily tasks in the absence of the FMS Supervisor
- Help plan and schedule vehicle routes, ensuring efficiency and compliance with driving regulations
- Maintain accurate records, including mileage, fuel use, and training documentation
- Support colleague inductions, training, and ongoing development within the team

Does this sound like you?
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers
- Experience working in a warehouse, logistics, or delivery environment
- The capability to lead and coordinate a small team when required
- A full, clean UK driving licence and the physical ability to handle manual tasks
- A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn, grow, and step into a supervisory role

This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
