Summary
Personal care assistant required for young female
Our client is looking for a personal assistant to support their daughter with personal care, recreational activities and accessing the community. She has multiple complex needs, is currently non-verbal and is an ambulatory wheelchair user – utilising a transport buggy on buses and accessible transport.
Due to the provision of personal care, our client has the right to request a carer of a specific sex. This vacancy is restricted for women only.
The successful candidate should be safety-oriented, patient, physically able to lift a small child, confident monitoring and responding to behaviour cues and empathetic. Familiarity with, or a willingness to learn some key words using British Sign Language/Makaton would be advantageous to be able to support our client’s daughter’s communication needs.
Our client’s daughter has high sensory needs. She loves music and singing, and enjoys swimming, visiting zoos and farm parks as well as soft play centres.
The role is 6 hours per week school holidays, paid at £12.71ph. The hours are to be worked on either a Monday, Wednesday or Friday and days could be flexible week to week if preferred subject to mutual agreement.
A degree of flexibility is required to accommodate hospital appointments. The role is based in New Holland.
Our client would prefer a driver with their own vehicle, which could accommodate a pushchair and a rear-facing car seat (both of which would be provided by our client).
Due to the nature of the role an enhanced DBS will need to be completed, which we will fund.
If you would like to apply please email a copy of your CV to gboardman@hull-cvs.co.uk and quote the reference 019
