A vibrant and inclusive primary school in the CF11 area is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Additional Learning Needs (ALN). The school caters for children aged 3-11, including nursery, and has a warm, multicultural community of over 300 pupils.
About the Role
This role involves providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with ALN, helping them access learning and fully engage in school life. You will work closely with the class teacher and additional support staff to deliver a tailored and nurturing learning experience, adapting approaches to meet the individual needs of the child.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Additional Learning Needs
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and abilities
- Support emotional, social, and behavioural development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and external professionals
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil and their family
- Contribute to planning and evaluating individual support strategies
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is patient, caring, and resilient
- Has experience supporting children with ALN or additional needs
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Has a good understanding of child development
- Can adapt to meet individual learning styles and needs
- Works well as part of a team and shows initiative
- Has strong literacy, numeracy, and basic IT skills
