Summary
The postholder:- Undertakes the cleaning of HPS areas in compliance with all local procedures and with the principles of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP). The post holder is required to work daily in a cleanroom environment which includes the following: Performing two garment change activities into specialised full body clean room garments Cleaning of floors, wall and ceiling. Cleaning of glass windows. The post holder is required to perform general cleaning daily in general areas which includes the following:Warehousing (stores areas, goods loading bay)Office areasToiletsNon-Classified production areasPlant roomsExternal building areasLaboratory testing areas The term general cleaning covers frequent activities such as: Sweeping, mopping and buffing/polishing of floorsvacuum cleaningdamp dusting/polishing of furniture, fixtures and fittings, shelving, interior doors, external doors and surrounding areas The post holder is required to transport waste daily from the areas serviced to waste carts and the waste compounds. This may involve the moving of bags up to 25 kg. The transporting of waste includes the pushing of full cages and carts to the disposal area outside the unit and extracting the waste bin bags and placing them into the waste containers. The role requires frequent light to moderate, long periods of physical effort with the occasional intense physical effort for short periods. This is typically in the cleanroom areas wearing restrictive garments. Frequent exposure to unpleasant working conditions of being directly exposed to dirt dust, smells, noise, inclement water and being subjected to wearing restrictive protective clothing. Rare exposure to highly unpleasant working conditions dealing with uncontained bodily fluids. The cleaning of the manufacturing areas and equipment requires the use of specialised disinfectant solutions and antibacterial wipes. To assist with the training and demonstration of duties to new and existing HPS employees. Assists in the completion of corrective and preventative actions arising from quality investigation reports relating to the cleaning activities within agreed time frames. To participate in the Trust Appraisal Programme. To maintain a good working relationship with line managers and staff within the areas cleaned. Whilst performing duties is responsible for:following Trust Polices and HPS SOPsliaising with Section Heads and prioritising work load around productionreporting any damage or faulty equipment reporting any health and safety issuesreporting to the Section Head any quality deviation found while carrying outtheir duties. complying with Health and Safety and COSHH regulationsassisting with the maintenance of specialist cleaning equipment to therequired standards. maintaining appropriate stock levels and records relating to the specialisedmaterials. maintaining the materials and equipment used in performing the specialised cleaning in a tidy and clean manner. assisting in the ordering of materials and equipment used in performingspecialised cleaning.
