Crynodeb
This is a part-time role working 18.5 hours a week. The working pattern for this role will be Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday.
All about the Role
You will be part of a team that provides a highly effective and efficient front-line housing options service, with a primary focus on preventing and relieving homelessness.
Within this role, you will undertake assessments and investigations of homelessness approaches and applications in line with the Council's statutory duties under the Housing Act 1996 Part 7 and relevant case law. To manage the assessment of customers housing needs in accordance with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
This is a specialist role that will be at the forefront of the prevention of homelessness and at the cutting-edge helping households where crisises occur and in accordance with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
You will be following clearly defined prevention pathways to maximise the number of households assisted under a prevention duty to maintain their existing accommodation or to achieve a planned move into suitable accommodation including but not limited to:
Single Homeless:
People leaving prison
People leaving hospital
Care Leavers
Rough Sleepers
People leaving supported accommodation
People accessing Adult Social Care Services
Refugees
Substance Misuse and dual diagnosis
Those asked to leave by family and friends
Families:
Households with children and a pregnant household member
Domestic Abuse
Newly settled refugee families
Families with complex and multiple needs including mental health needs, disabilities, substance misuse
To relieve homelessness through the provision of temporary accommodation where required and a statutory relief duty is owed.
