The OpportunityWe're looking for an experienced Head of FM to lead Hard Services across a prison estate.
This role sits at the heart of the operation — you'll be responsible for safe, compliant, high-performing FM delivery, while leading teams and building strong relationships with HMPPS and key stakeholders.
You'll have real ownership, managing performance, risk, and budgets in a complex, highly regulated environment.

Internally, you'll lead and develop your teams, managing recruitment, performance, ER matters, and engagement, while creating a strong, inclusive culture.
Financially, you'll own the budget, forecasts, and reporting, making sure performance stays on track and within agreed parameters.
What You'll BringYou'll already have a strong background in Hard FM or TFM leadership, ideally within a prison or secure environment, supported by an engineering qualification.
You'll understand building services, maintenance standards (SFG20), and FM compliance, and be confident managing performance across a complex estate.
Experience leading large teams, handling people matters, and delivering service plans and KPIs is key, alongside strong financial and commercial awareness.
You'll also bring:
-IOSH (essential), NEBOSH desirable
-Professional membership (IWFM, CMI or CMIOSH)
-Confidence with data, reporting, and performance analysis
-The ability to manage risk, priorities, and multiple workstreams
