Summary

We are seeking to appoint a flexible team player who is prepared to support the class teacher, other colleagues and children. You will need to be well motivated, tenacious and be confident enough to use your own initiative when the need arises. In addition, you must have a firm but fair manner and a genuine desire to support the individual development of the children with whom you work.

Key areas of responsibility:

• To work as a Teaching Assistant, primarily with children with significant
communication & interaction needs
• To work as part of a team in supporting children with additional needs to enable
them to have full and meaningful access to a broad and balanced curriculum
This will entail working independently with pupils, individually or in small
groups, as directed by the Teacher in Charge of the Resourced Provision or
other senior staff
• To support access to learning for children within the resourced provision and
provide general support to the teacher in the management of these pupils
• Provide general support in a specific curricula/resource area, including
preparation, and maintenance of resources and support to staff and pupils

Desired Skills Required:

A minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Maths, or a willingness to gain these during the period of employment

Relevant experience working with school-age children
Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
The ability to use basic technology to support teaching & learning
Willingness to undertake training related to the role, including first aid training

Desired Personal Qualities:

A positive attitude and a desire to work as a member of a team.

32.5 hours per week Monday – Friday 8:30 - 15:20

Holiday Entitlement 7.45 weeks annual leave
