We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate English GCSE Teaching Assistant to support students in achieving their academic goals. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and students, providing tailored assistance to enhance learning outcomes. Duties
Assist English GCSE teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities
Support students with their coursework, revision, and exam preparation
Provide one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to students requiring additional help
Work with individuals with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum, to facilitate inclusive learning
Implement personalised learning strategies to accommodate diverse needs
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers
Support behavioural management and create a positive learning environment
Assist in organising educational resources and materials for classroom use
Foster effective communication between students, teachers, and parents where appropriate
Experience
Prior experience working with children or young people in an educational setting is desirable
Knowledge of special education needs (SEN), particularly working with individuals with disabilities or autism, is advantageous
Experience in tutoring or mentoring students to improve their academic performance
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students of varying abilities
Familiarity with teaching techniques suitable for GCSE level English is beneficial but not essential; training will be provided for relevant curriculum support
