Summary

Provide data quality support across the practice Maintain good quality of data recorded Ensure the efficient running of the practice computer system, carrying out searches, audits and recalls as required by the practice Interrogate & present data for audit purposes, clearly & concisely Set up & maintain clinical templates & referral letters Effectively monitor patient call and recall systems Responsible for maintaining and ensuring practice achievement of QoF or other incentivised contracts held Read Coding information into the practice clinical system consistently & accurately Ensure accurate report output Investigate routine data improvement enquiries/queries and provide assistance and advice as required Identify data quality trends and assess common themes through regular use of data quality queries and reporting, and highlight areas for improvement/inaccuracies to the Data Quality & IT Lead to improve processes or resolve problems Proactively initiate data quality improvement projects Assist and participate with regular Data Quality Audits using clinical systems Ensure enhanced service claims are made correctly and appropriately Effectively keep & maintain records of claims for payment Provide audit statistics to the ICB / NHSE or other governing bodies when required Support the sustainable improvement in data quality across the practice IT systems (e.g. through the output of data quality audits) Use own judgement to resolve data improvement issues Keep abreast of relevant guidance in relation to data quality practices & contracts Be able to work without supervision, but feel confident to seek advice when needed Summarising of patient medical records following practice protocols Be a contributing member of the Data Quality Team Prepare statistical or data reports as requested by the practice Process & keep safeguarding records in accordance with practice policy Support and guide members of staff in the use of the computer system Report faults to software supplier Attend meetings relevant to the post Minute meetings where required Ensure the security and confidentiality of all clinical data handled, including the safe keeping of all health records. Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to all issues concerned within the service and adhere to the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1984, Information Governance and Caldicott Principles. Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by management or partners.
