Contract: Full-Time / Term-Time

The Mission

Are you passionate about making a tangible difference in the lives of young people who face significant barriers to learning?

Our school in Horley is a specialised provision dedicated to nurturing independent learners and preparing them for a successful transition into adult life. We cater to up to 50 students who possess Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). We are deeply dedicated to our vision of "nurturing independent learners who are prepared for adult life."

The Student Profile

The majority of our learners have complex needs. You will be supporting students with:

  • SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health)

  • MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties)

  • Autism (ASC)

  • Associated Needs: ADHD, Speech & Language difficulties, Oppositional Defiance, and Attachment Disorders.

Your Role

As an SEN TA, you will provide critical learning and educational interventions tailored to individual EHCPs. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Educational Interventions: Delivering targeted support that aligns with specific learning goals.

  • Emotional Support: Providing a grounded, nurturing presence to help students navigate social and emotional challenges.

  • Promoting Independence: Encouraging students to develop the practical skills necessary for life beyond education.

  • Collaboration: Working within a team referred by Surrey County Council and other local authorities to ensure holistic student care.

Who You Are
  • Resilient: You remain calm and professional in high-pressure or emotionally charged situations.

  • Experienced: You have a background (or a strong interest) in working with SEMH, Autism, or ADHD.

  • Empathetic: You understand that "behaviour is communication" and can support students with attachment or defiance disorders with patience.

  • Proactive: You are ready to jump in and find creative ways to engage students who find traditional learning difficult.
