Summary
Due to an increase in work volume we are seeking an additional dedicated and hardworking forklift driver/Yard Operative to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tasks within the yard, including loading and unloading materials, assisting with shipping and receiving operations, and ensuring the yard is well-organised and safe.
This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
VALID Counterbalance license is required and at least 1 year of experience operating the forklift.
Responsibilities
Load and unload materials from lorries and containers efficiently.
Assist in shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate documentation of goods.
Maintain an organised yard by managing inventory and ensuring proper storage of materials.
Operate forklifts safely to move heavy items as required.
Perform basic equipment repairs and maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.
Handle materials with care, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals.

Skills
Proficient in loading and unloading techniques.
Experience in shipping and receiving processes is advantageous.
Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment repair tasks.
Strong mathematical skills for inventory management and documentation purposes.
Forklift certification or experience operating forklifts is preferred.
Familiarity with materials handling practices within a warehouse environment.
Knowledge of warehouse management systems is a plus.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.
Hours of work are :
8am-4.30pm Monday - Friday paid at £14.50 per hour
