SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Lichfield, WS14
Pay Rate: £110 - £120 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Monday to Friday | Long-term (Temp-to-Perm Opportunity)
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lichfield. This role focuses on providing dedicated 1:1 support alongside delivering targeted small group interventions within a Key Stage 1 setting.
You will play an important role in supporting pupils to access the curriculum by breaking down learning into manageable steps, adapting resources, and applying tailored strategies. Pupils may present with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate. The school is seeking a proactive and positive individual who can become a valued member of their SEN team.
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils with EHCPs within a KS1 setting
- Deliver targeted small group interventions to support learning and development
- Support pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, SEMH, and SLCN
- Assist with early learning, including phonics, literacy, and numeracy
- Implement strategies to support behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt provision
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or relevant experience)
- Previous experience working within a school setting
- Strong understanding of SEN, particularly ASD and SEMH
- Confident delivering both 1:1 support and small group interventions
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Long-term placements offering stability and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact
- Weekly pay through a streamlined digital system
- Access to free CPD, including Behaviour Management, SEMH, and Positive Handling
- Ongoing support and guidance from a dedicated consultant
