Summary

You will be joining a well-established engineering and estates team operating within a busy hospital environment. The team is responsible for maintaining critical facilities across the site, ensuring a safe and efficient setting for patients, staff, and visitors.
Your new role
Royal Derby Hospital £13.65 - £16.71 per hour (Please note methods of payment are either PAYE or Umbrella)
Temporary, Contract
Hours: Full-Time - Monday to Friday 8-5pm
As a Maintenance Assistant, you will support skilled engineers and tradespeople with a range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks. You'll assist with basic repairs, workshop duties, and general site upkeep, while helping maintain safe and tidy working environments across the hospital.
Your role will also involve delivering tools and materials, supporting plant room inspections, and assisting with the movement of equipment across site.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need good practical, hands-on skills and a strong willingness to learn. You should be reliable, punctual, and comfortable working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
A basic understanding of health & safety is essential.
Previous experience in maintenance, construction, engineering, or facilities management would be beneficial, but not essential.
