Shunter Driver - Ship-to-Shore Operations (Evening Shift)
Location: Flixborough Industrial Estate
Shift: 10-hour shifts starting between 4:00pm - 6:00pm
Pay: £14.90 per hour (includes shift allowance)
Overtime: £18.62 per hour after 37.5 hours
Positions Available: 4 roles
We are currently recruiting for 4 Shunter Drivers to support ship-to-shore operations, moving steel products within a busy industrial environment. This is a great opportunity with the potential to secure a permanent role.
Role OverviewThis role involves shunting vehicles on-site, transporting steel loads between dockside and yard areas.
No manual steel handling required - all loading and unloading is carried out via forklift.
✅ Key Responsibilities- Safely manoeuvre and shunt vehicles across site
- Move steel loads between ship, yard, and storage areas
- Position trailers for forklift loading and unloading
- Carry out basic vehicle checks
- Follow all site health & safety procedures
- Minimum 7.5T (C1) licence required (Class 1/C+E preferred)
- Previous shunting or yard experience desirable
- Confident driving large tug / shunter vehicles on uneven ground
- Strong awareness of site safety and vehicle movements
- Reliable and able to commit to evening/night shifts
- Willing to undergo drug & alcohol testing
- £18.00 per hour (including shift allowance)
- Overtime paid at £22.50 per hour after 37.5 hours
- Consistent 10-hour shifts
- Temp-to-perm opportunity
