Health & Safety Advisor
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our clients busy operational team. You will provide practical safety leadership and technical advice to ensure legal compliance, reduce risk, and promote a positive safety culture across multiple sites. This is a part-time, permanent role for 3 days/week
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain health & safety policies, procedures and safe systems of work
- Carry out site inspections, risk assessments, audits and toolbox talks
- Investigate incidents and near misses; produce reports with corrective actions and track completion
- Deliver training and awareness sessions for staff and contractors
- Provide competent person support for statutory duties and liaise with regulatory bodies as required
- Monitor compliance with legislation and industry standards; update management on performance and trends
- Support safe contractor management, permits to work and occupational health arrangements
- Produce clear documentation, management reports and recommendations to reduce risk and cost
Essential skills and experience
- NEBOSH National General Certificate (or higher) or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety Advisor or similar role
- Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, risk assessment methodology and accident investigation
- Experience conducting audits and inspections and implementing corrective actions
- Ability to develop and deliver training and safety briefings
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Competent report writing and IT skills, including MS Office
Desirable
- IOSH membership or other professional affiliations
- Experience in manufacturing
