Newfriars College is looking for a dedicated and passionate Speech and Language Therapist to join
our team supporting young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver high-quality, evidence-based therapy that directly impacts
students’ communication, independence, and future pathways.
About the Role The postholder will: • Assess and support students with a range of speech, language, and communication needs • Deliver tailored interventions in both 1:1 and group settings • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to embed communication strategies into learning • Contribute to EHCP reviews, transition planning, and student progression • Provide training, advice, and support to staff, families, and carers • Support the safe implementation of eating and drinking guidelines • Help shape and develop therapy provision across the college
You’ll also play a key role in ensuring communication support is fully integrated into the student experience, helping every learner achieve their full potential.
About You We are looking for someone who: • Is a qualified and HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist • Ideally has experience working with young people with SEND • Is confident managing a caseload, including complex needs • Works collaboratively and communicates effectively with a wide range of stakeholders • Is proactive, compassionate, and committed to inclusive practice
