Summary

Eligibility Criteria All applicants must be: Aged 16+ Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three consecutive years Must not have a qualification in a similar subject at the same level or above Must not be in any form of formal government-funded education upon the start of their apprenticeship Qualifications and Skills Required: Good general standard of education 4 GCSEs at Grade D/3 or above Good standard of literacy and numeracy Good communication and interpersonal skills Good IT skills To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUHs PRIDE values of People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence and demonstrate behaviours that support and encourage an inclusive culture. The Apprentice Receptionist will: Provide a professional and welcoming reception service to patients, relatives, and visitors Support administrative functions including patient bookings, data entry, and handling enquiries Work across AMU, Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), and associated areas, providing clerical and ward clerk support Assist with managing internal and external referrals in line with service processes Support the triage of patients to specialties twice daily, ensuring accurate and timely allocation in line with clinical guidance Act as a key point of communication between consultants, specialty teams, nursing staff, allied health professionals, and patients/visitors, ensuring information is shared clearly and effectively Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with Trust policies and confidentiality standards Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to support patient flow and service delivery Demonstrate flexibility to support service needs across departments Undertake and complete the apprenticeship framework, applying learning into practice Please see the attached job description for full details.
