JOB SUMMARY This job description is an outline of the main duties of the post. The postholder will be required to undertake other duties commensurate with the grade as directed. The content of this post will be reviewed in consultation with the postholder when necessary and in line with the service developments. KEY RESULT AREAS: 1. Leadership and Management Lead the core team and provide service and act as the central point of contact for any external services or agencies. Manage a delegated expenditure within the allocated team and service budget. Ensure the core team and provided service is developed and maintained in line with commissioned principles of the Talking Therapies service specification. Ensure that the core team contributes appropriately to meeting the service targets agreed with commissioners. To be visible and accessible to Talking Therapies staff and to frequently meet with, and openly communicate with them. 2. Partnerships Ensure effective liaison with all primary and secondary care partners. Collaborate with the necessary range of other statutory and non-statutory agencies across areas; enabling effective use of existing resources, and raising awareness of issues. Provide a responsive and flexible service which aims to support individuals in the community where appropriate by working in partnership with the individual and community agencies. Take a lead responsibility for service user and carer involvement by the core team and ensure that opportunities for feedback and input are maximised. Utilise the skill and experience available in the full range of statutory and non-statutory agencies in the care and treatment of individuals accessing the Talking Therapies. Promote links with, and actively co-opt other services and resources to facilitate social, educational, and employment opportunities for the team caseload and wider services. Lead the team in providing care and treatment that recognises the importance of housing, employment, education, recreational activities, advocacy, social networks, friendships and welfare benefits for the individual and their family. 3. Care and Intervention Ensure that the core team provides rapid and effective clinical assessment and treatment in accordance to the service specification. Assist in the Screening of referrals for suitability for the service where required. Ensure that team and service culture is sensitive of clients needs, differences, difficulties and behaviours, and that engagement, hope and recovery are central themes. Ensure that the team is responsive to diverse needs, maintaining methods of working compliant with Trust policy and national guidance on diversity relating to an individuals age, gender, race, culture, disability, spirituality and sexuality; and ensure the service is accessible and culturally appropriate to served populations within available resources. Ensure appropriate service user confidentiality and information governance at all times. Have lead responsibility for the delivery of effective and safe case management within the team. Provide line management supervision to identified members of the team, and ensure the whole team has access to supportive supervision systems. Take a lead responsibility for ensuring that arrangements for referral and assessment to the service are effective and implemented. 4. Governance Contribute to the development of protocols for planned transition to and from the service. Ensure that appropriate recording and information systems are utilised, service evaluations, monitoring and data collection; and required performance management reporting via the RiO IT system. Contribute to a continuing programme of team and service evaluation, research, and/or audit against known best practice. Measuring the overall effectiveness of the team, methods of treatment, and cost effectiveness, and challenging current methods of working in response to evaluation recommendations. Take a lead responsibility for the maintenance of team quality minimum standards in conjunction with the outcomes of the commissioned service. Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of service policy and procedures and work. Ensure ongoing training, and programmes of education appropriate to the development and promotion of the team and service. Take a lead responsibility within the team for mental health risk assessments. Ensure the team assesses and manages risk in accordance with Trust policy and procedures. In keeping with relevant professional guidance, maintain an up to date professional portfolio record and an effective awareness of current service developments. The post holder will support the Trusts commitment to a healthy work life balance and the achievement of the IWL Practice and Practice Plus Standard. Represent the Talking Therapies service in the Community Service line meetings The content of this post will be reviewed in consultation with the postholder when necessary and in line with the service developments. The potholders duties must at all times be carried out in compliance with the Trusts Policies and Procedures in particular the postholder must act in accordance with the Equal Opportunities Policy and the Health and Safety Policy.
