Crynodeb
CVS Lincolnshire is seeking to recruit a part-time Communities and Volunteering Officer for the West Lindsey area for 18 hours a week. Initially temporary until March 2027
Purpose of the job
• To support the delivery of CVS Lincolnshire’s Volunteer Centre Service and increase access to volunteering, in particular targeting those people who may be less able to access volunteering opportunities themselves
• To support the delivery of the VCFSE offer and project development
• To support small to medium voluntary & community organisations in partnership with the Communities and Volunteering Team
• To develop Employer Supported Volunteering
• To develop micro volunteering
• To deliver information and training sessions
Specific Duties
• To support volunteer brokerage and outreach and engage with people wishing to volunteer and/or start up community projects
• To provide support and best practice information to new and existing organisations to demonstrate good governance and aid effective management of volunteers, including coaching and mentoring for trustees and leaders
• To develop and utilise training and tools to support the VCFSE sector. E.g. funding sessions, peer support and networking opportunities
• To support volunteers, including trustees, to overcome any barriers to volunteering for example; building confidence and providing access to learning new skills and working with host organisations to develop appropriate volunteer roles
• To build links with and support organisations to develop appropriate volunteer roles
• To support, develop and promote the delivery of training to VCFSE organisations and volunteers, including on-line training resources, support tools, template forms and digital technologies
• To promote the benefits of Employer Supported Volunteering (ESV) to local employers and VCFSE organisations. Engage and support local businesses to share skills and benefit community projects through employer supported volunteering and encourage employers to support their staff to volunteer
• To identify and promote micro volunteering opportunities and their benefits
• To deliver Voluntary Sector Forums and other Networks to enable shared learning and opportunities for collaboration at a local level
• To use Team Kinetic and AideCRM, and other digital systems to undertake monitoring and reporting of activity
• To increase the flow of groups and individuals to CVS Lincolnshire services and raise the profile of the organisation in the community through direct engagement of local groups, attendance at meetings, networks, local events etc.
• To support project development and delivery across the Partnership as required
• Abide by data protection guidelines.
Qualifications
• Educated to NVQ Level II or equivalent
Knowledge
• DESIRABLE: Understanding of the dynamics of the voluntary sector and its operating environment
Experience & Skills
• Project management experience.
• Experience in community development, volunteer management, or related roles.
• Experience of successfully leading and implementing community-based projects
and initiatives.
• Experience of working with diverse communities and stakeholders.
• Experience of strong operational planning and problem-solving skills with the
ability to develop and implement plans to promote thriving communities - setting goals, objectives, and key performance indicators to measure success.
• Understanding of effective office administration procedures
• Excellent communication skills
• Commitment to customer care and service improvement.
• Confident with utilising IT, databases, Microsoft Office/Excel, mail merge facilities, websites
