Job Overview
We are seeking a responsible and attentive Gateman/woman to oversee access control at our construction site. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth and secure entry of authorised personnel and vehicles, maintaining safety and organisation on site. Responsibilities
Monitor and control entry and exit points of the construction site, ensuring only authorised personnel and vehicles gain access
Maintain accurate records of visitors, deliveries, and vehicles entering the premises
Communicate effectively with site staff, visitors, and delivery drivers to coordinate access arrangements
Conduct basic security checks as required, ensuring safety protocols are adhered to
Assist with directing traffic within the site to prevent congestion or hazards
Report any suspicious activity or safety concerns to the relevant authorities promptly
Ensure the security of the site during designated working hours
Requirements
Prior experience in construction, security, or a related field is required. Traffic Marshall/Banksman ticket required
CSCS card required
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate vehicle movement if necessary
Ability to remain vigilant and attentive during long shifts
Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanour with strong organisational skills
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Basic understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to construction sites
