Crynodeb
a) Have primary responsibility for the provision of specialist nursing care within the Paediatric Oncology Ambulatory Service for a defined patient group, practising autonomously as a core member of the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, child- and family-centred care in an outpatient and day-care setting. b) Be responsible for supporting the ambulatory care team, to ensure the safe and effective therapeutic management of a defined paediatric oncology caseload, facilitating efficient patient flow and same-day treatment pathways. c) Act as the identified key worker for a designated patient caseload within the ambulatory service, coordinating and overseeing treatment, care planning, follow-up, and communication across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings to ensure continuity of care. d) Provide specialist advice, education, and emotional support to patients, families, carers, and healthcare professionals within the Paediatric Oncology Ambulatory Service. Practise clinically across agreed care settings while supporting the wider Division in the development and delivery of safe, effective, and responsive ambulatory oncology services. e) Work across professional, departmental, and Trust boundaries to develop and support seamless, patient-centred ambulatory pathways, with a particular focus on reducing unnecessary inpatient admissions, improving patient experience, and leading nurse-led initiatives within paediatric oncology ambulatory care. f) Act as a professional role model within the Paediatric Oncology Ambulatory Service, promoting excellence in clinical practice, supporting staff development, and contributing effectively to collaborative multidisciplinary and inter-professional team working.
