Summary
We are looking for an experienced Estimating Engineer / Fabrication Estimator to join a growing engineering and fabrication business supporting an increasing workload across bespoke fabrication and engineering projects.
The company specialises in high-quality fabrication, welding, and engineered solutions for a wide range of industries. Projects include general fabrication, architectural metalwork, conveyors, material handling systems, vehicle-related fabrication, and bespoke engineering manufacture.
This is a varied and fast-paced role ideal for someone with strong fabrication knowledge, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple quotations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
• Produce accurate quotations for fabrication and engineering projects
• Estimate material, labour, machining, finishing, and subcontract costs
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing
• Manage multiple quotations and prioritise urgent enquiries
• Support project handover into production
• Follow up quotations and maintain customer communication where required
Requirements
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication and engineering drawings
• Good understanding of workshop and fabrication processes
• Commercially aware with a practical mindset
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Competent using Excel and general office software
Desirable Experience
• Knowledge of laser cutting, folding, machining, or sheet metal processes
• Experience using RADAN, Radquote, or WorkPLAN
• CAD or estimating software experience
