About the Role
Leeds City College are seeking a Public Services Coach to join us at our Quarry Hill Campus.

The School of Public Services at Leeds City College supports over 400 students on courses from Level 1 to Level 3, preparing them for careers within the emergency services and armed forces and many more sectors.

What You Will Do
You will be responsible for a caseload of learners who require coaching and support as part of their planned learning programme.

Deliver group sessions that explore a wide range of personal, social, health, and economic topics.

Support learners to track and monitor progress towards achievement using assessment grades.

Communicate with parents and guardians of learners to support progression and build positive relationships and identify where learners require an intervention.

Identify barriers to learning and implement a range of strategies to overcome barriers.

Develop and agree individual learning plans, identify SMART targets and set aspirational goals for learners, liaising with subject specialists and other academic and support staff.

Manage learning in a variety of spaces, creating a positive and focused experience.
Facilitate and participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities with learners.

About You
English and Mathematics at Level 2 or above and a willingness to improve in one or both disciplines to level 3 or above.

Supporting teaching and learning / teaching assistant / or learning, mentoring/coaching qualification or commitment to achieving within 1 year of appointment.

A passion and ability to inspire and motivate young people to become our future uniformed services and armed forces personnel, and youth workers.

Recent teaching or instructing experience that demonstrates active learning and differentiated teaching styles.

Ability to be adaptable and flexible towards the requirements of different learner needs.
