The Opportunity

- This is a shifts based role (rotational between days & nights)
- This role offers long‑term stability, a supportive working culture, and the opportunity to work with a wide variety of machinery and technology.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:

- Provide first‑line maintenance support for machinery and appliance breakdowns.
- Diagnose faults across electrical systems, mechanical assemblies, hydraulics, pneumatics, and CNC / machine‑tool equipment.
- Read, interrogate, and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and control system schematics.
- Install and maintain 3‑phase electrical machinery.
- Replace spindles, drives, and other key machine‑tool components.
- Carry out reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance in accordance with PPM schedules and compliance requirements.
- Support machine alignment, repair activities, and performance optimisation.
- Coordinate with maintenance support teams regarding spare parts, requisitions, and inventory needs.
- Complete all required documentation and maintain accurate, up‑to‑date maintenance records.
- Mentor trainees and collaborate with colleagues to achieve operational targets.

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

- A relevant, time‑served industry qualification or apprenticeship.
- Proven experience in maintaining CNC machinery & equipment.
- Strong understanding of machine‑shop operations, metal‑treatment processes, and fabrication methods.
- Experience working with milling machines or other large, complex machining systems.

It’s great if you also have the following:

- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Confidence mentoring trainees or junior team members

The setting for the role
The site operates a 24/7 shift pattern averaging 42 hours per week and is a unionised environment.
