We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team and play a key role supervising PPA and supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the school.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about helping pupils thrive, supporting teachers, and contributing to the wider life of the school.
Job Purpose
• To support and promote the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
• Deliver learning activities and tasks set by the class teacher, ensuring continuity of learning in their absence.
• Supervise and support pupils while they work, maintaining a purposeful, safe and engaging learning environment.
• Respond to pupils’ questions, provide guidance and keep learners on task throughout the session.
• Use professional judgement to adapt explanations or approaches where appropriate, while remaining within the teacher’s planned framework.
• Maintain good order, positive behaviour and high expectations during all cover sessions.
• Record and report on pupil engagement, progress and any issues arising during the lesson.
