Working on supply allows a Primary School Teacher (ECT) to gain experience across a range of year groups, develop classroom practice, and maintain a healthy work-life balance while making a positive impact on pupils’ learning from September 2026.

Duties as Primary School Teacher (ECT):

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 as a Primary School Teacher (ECT)
• Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities
• Support pupils’ academic progress and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day
• Follow safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of all pupils
• Manage classroom routines confidently to ensure continuity of learning
• Provide clear feedback and handover notes to school staff
• Represent Step Teachers professionally while working as a Primary School Teacher (ECT)
