Summary

In this role, you will take a lead role in the delivery of nuclear medicine, particularly the CT component of SPECT/CT, while remaining connected to the wider service. You will support the general nuclear medicine rota where possible, helping to maintain flexibility, resilience and continuity across the department. You will be expected to assess referrals and requests in line with local protocols and IR(ME)R requirements, work as an operator under IR(ME)R and comply with current radiation protection legislation and ARSAC-related practice. A strong understanding of imaging protocols, camera settings, patient preparation, radiopharmacy handling and hybrid imaging workflows will be essential to ensure high-quality and efficient service delivery. You will also be responsible for liaising with clinicians when needed, interpreting patient needs sensitively, explaining procedures clearly, and adapting imaging approaches to support excellent patient experience. The role requires someone who can work confidently and independently while knowing when to escalate, seek advice or involve senior colleagues.
