Are you an experienced Design Engineer looking to work on innovative, bespoke engineering projects from concept through to production? Our client, a highly respected engineering manufacturer based in Diss, is looking for a talented and driven Design Engineer to join their busy and collaborative Design Office.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking business where your ideas, technical expertise, and creativity will directly contribute to the development of exciting mechanical products and solutions.
The Role
Working within a skilled engineering team, you’ll play a key role in designing and developing high-quality products using SolidWorks and AutoCAD LT. This is a varied, hands-on position where no two projects are the same, offering the chance to work closely with multiple departments and see your designs brought to life.
Key Responsibilities
• Create accurate 2D and 3D detail and assembly drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD LT.
• Collaborate with Sales, Projects, Purchasing, Production, customers, and suppliers on technical requirements and solutions.
• Produce Bills of Materials (BOMs), CE documentation, and O&M manuals.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to Production teams.
• Attend site surveys and support installations when required.
• Ensure all designs comply with Health & Safety standards and customer specifications.
• Support projects from initial concept through to manufacture and installation.
About You
We’re looking for a proactive and motivated engineer who enjoys problem-solving and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
You will ideally have:
• Previous experience in a mechanical design engineering role (essential).
• A Mechanical Engineering qualification (desirable).
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively to deadlines.
• A professional, self-motivated, and solutions-focused approach.
