The role includes: Delivery of primary care services across 6 -7sessions per week Management of a defined patient list alongside shared responsibility for the wider practice population Participation in a structured weekly duty/on-call rota, with additional cover during colleague annual leave Undertaking home visits as required Managing clinical administration including Pathlinks, Docman workflow, and prescriptions Providing cover for GP colleagues during annual leave, including additional sessions and workload Participation in practice meetings, MDT working, and service development Adherence to practice policies, CQC standards, and clinical governance requirements Supporting supervision, mentoring or training activities Professional Responsibilities & Clinical Governance The post holder will be expected to: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current clinical guidelines and best practice Participate in practice meetings, clinical meetings, and MDT discussions Engage in clinical audit, quality improvement and service development activity Contribute to significant event reviews, learning events, and reflective practice Support delivery of QOF, GP contract and quality improvement programmes Ensure compliance with CQC, NHS and practice governance standards Training & Development Maintain mandatory training requirements in line with practice, PCN and NHS policies Undertake continuing professional development (CPD) in line with appraisal and revalidation requirements Participate in annual appraisal and revalidation processes Support development and training of colleagues where appropriate Team Working & MDT Engagement Work collaboratively with the wider team including ANPs, nurses, pharmacists, FCP, MHP and administrative staff Actively participate in multidisciplinary working and patient care planning Contribute to a positive, supportive and inclusive team culture The post holder will contribute to a culture of continuous learning, safety, and improvement within the practice. Additional Duties The post holder will undertake other duties appropriate to the role as required by the practice The post holder will be expected to contribute to the resilience of the service, including flexibility in working arrangements to meet clinical demand Responsibilities may be reviewed and amended over time in line with service development, workforce changes and patient need, following discussion with the post holder The post holder will support colleagues and the wider team to maintain safe, effective and responsive patient care This job description is intended as a guide and is not exhaustive.
