De Lacy Academy are looking to appoint a Teacher of Maths to join our academy in September 2026 on a full time, permanent basis.

Your new school

Here at De Lacy Academy, we have been on a journey that has seen the school judged as Outstanding by Ofsted. They recognised the hard work and effort that goes into making this school a successful and caring place of learning that meets the needs of its pupils and its community.

With nearly 900 pupils aged between 11 and 16 housed on a campus that has benefited from much recent investment, De Lacy is a busy and vibrant place. We serve the ex-mining area of Knottingley and draw increasingly from the surrounding areas. We are experiencing a period of unprecedented growth across all year groups as the school delivers excellent outcomes and as the communities of Knottingley and Ferrybridge continue to develop.

The Academy is incredibly proud of its most recent results with 47% of students achieving a 5+ in English and maths in 2025. Alongside this exceptional achievement De Lacy has a broad and balanced curriculum which goes above and beyond the national curriculum.

Exciting Extra-Curricular Experiences

The opportunities that De Lacy offers its students outside the classroom is really exciting with a full suite of extra-curricular experiences in particular recent trips to Paris on a textiles trip and planned ski trip to Italy in 2027. De Lacy also runs regular trips to Delta’s offsite outdoor centre in the Yorkshire Dales of Dallowgill.

Your new role

We have an exciting teaching opportunity and are looking for an outstanding, committed and motivated teacher to contribute to the development of teaching and learning and curriculum in our Maths department. This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious and proven classroom practitioner who can display a real passion for developing and inspiring the pupils in their care.
